The proud city of Boralus witnessed an unforgettable spectacle over the past week as the Tournament of the Tide captivated participants and spectators alike.
The tournament combined both traditional disciplines, like duelling, grand melee and jousting, with more Kul Tiran cultural competitions like fishing, knot-tying and a competition in knowledge and history. This grand event brought together competitors from near and far to vie for glory across these seven diverse disciplines.
The cobblestone streets and bustling harbours of Boralus buzzed with excitement as the city played host to this prestigious tournament, culminating in the crowning of its champions on Sunday at the Norwington Estate where dancing and feasting was also on the menu. Staff from The Groggery and The Octupus helped with catering to make this event truly unforgettable.
Victoria Fletchbury emerged as the undisputed champion of the duelling competition, her swift reflexes and unparalleled swordsmanship setting her apart from her rivals.
In the chaotic clash of the melee, Osias reigned supreme. His skills in avoidance and combat, while mocked by some, saw him through the fierce contest, where only the strongest (or smartest) could withstand the relentless onslaught.
Daeris Crow’s impeccable marksmanship secured them the title of champion in the riflery competition. Crow’s calm demeanor and steady aim made them a formidable opponent in this challenging event.
The loremaster’s gambit tested the wits and knowledge of its participants, and Lady Roselyn de Vries proved herself to be the most erudite of them all. Her vast understanding of history and quick thinking during the knowledge competition earned her the champion’s title.

Jane Moordale demonstrated exceptional skill in the fishing competition, reeling in the largest and most elusive catches with ease.
Avinor Greytide’s nimble fingers earned them the top spot in the knot-tying competition.
The title of Champion of the Tide, one of the most prestigious accolades of the tournament, was awarded to Sir Artemiy Niebuhr. His skills with a lance and hose-riding secured him the victory.
The tournament aided in making the city come alive with bustling activity as well as supply a steady source of customers for the local establishments, like The Octopus and The Groggery. They all saw an increase in activity yet managed to supply their usual ever amazing service.
The tournament put Boralus on the map once more, reminding people of the proud nation and their cultural heritage, as well as boost the local community and inspire them to do even more in the future.
While no officials plans exist yet then here at the Roar we have heard rumours of several Boralus based events in the near future. From Robot Chicken fights and Oily gnome wrestling to concerts and pretzel eating competitions as well as a harvest festival and guided true crime-walks. We also hear talk of an upcoming Thornspeaker ceremony to celebrate the Old Ways as well as feasts and brawling.
Thank you to the hosts and organisers of the Tournament of the Tide for not only a great week of fun and (mostly) good spirited competitions, but also for inspiring people across the city to become more involved and if just half of these rumours holds truth then we can expect an exciting time ahead.
