Stormwind City, Saturday night. The Stormwind City Brigade is investigating a series of killings, a violent protest near Lion’s Rest, the shooting of an informant and an attack upon the nobleman Benrus Stonehammer, all of which have featured references to the Stonemasons or the Defias Brotherhood.
Specialist Raven Silverdusk of the Brigade told The Lion’s Roar that four or five bodies had been found near the bridges leading to the Trade and Dwarven districts. All but one of the dead were nobles, he said, with the remaining victim identified as a sergeant.
According to Silverdusk, the victims had been made to suffer before death and their bodies were covered with propaganda containing threats against the Crown and the nobility. One noblewoman was found with a red bandanna around her neck. The newspaper has not independently examined the scenes or the Brigade’s reports, and Silverdusk offered to provide further documentation during a follow-up interview if the higher-ups allows it.
The investigation started with a recent disturbance which began as an apparently ordinary protest. Silverdusk said suspicion grew when the Stonemasons were mentioned and participants began distributing propaganda while approaching Lion’s Rest from behind the Cathedral.
He said officers attempted to halt the gathering after those involved disrupted the King’s grave and later harassed dracthyr farther along the memorial grounds. An attempted arrest followed, during which a protester allegedly tried to set an officer’s cloak alight, prompting what Silverdusk described as a full skirmish.
The Brigade retained a copy of the pamphlet distributed during the protest. Its precise authorship has not been established publicly, and the repeated use of Stonemason and Brotherhood language does not by itself prove that the historic Defias organisation is responsible.
The strongest claimed connection comes from a man whom Silverdusk described as a former Defias associate. The man reportedly approached the Brigade to provide information, then was shot.
Silverdusk quoted the informant as saying: “They call him T. He’s calling the shots in there, but there’s more. That’s just one cave.” The informant also claimed that those involved used caves as hideouts and supplied the initials “N” and “K”.
A separate account obtained by a Brigade recruit referred to a man named Thomas who was allegedly “treated almost like a god”. Silverdusk said investigators believe Thomas and the figure known as T are closely linked, though he could not confirm whether they are the same person. He described one suspected leader as a young brunette woman with green eyes, known as N, while another was said to be an older man with grey hair and brown eyes. Their faces were reportedly covered.
Silverdusk urged residents to report malicious posters, avoid travelling alone and take particular care if they are of noble lineage. Anyone with information about the killings, the protest, the shooting or the attack upon Benrus Stonehammer should contact the Stormwind City Brigade
